Activating Inclusive Sound Spaces
Papers, performances, installations and discussion (8-9 July 2017)
Activating Inclusive Sound Spaces (AISS) is a weekend of critical discourse on the activation of sound spaces in relation to gender, race, culture and identity, hosted by the University of Huddersfield, UK.
We seek to listen carefully to voices other than our own; to understand other experiences, activate safer spaces, create inclusive environments and collaborate on informed action. In particular we need to amplify the voices of people creating and producing independently without institutional support, to understand their perspectives and their views about how circumstance shapes practice.
The event includes a keynote by Professor Pamela Burnard and a special guest interview with Mira Calix.
We are delighted that so many people have registered for their free ticket. We have now allocated the budget for 60 delegates and this means that we now only have priced tickets. Tickets are £50 each.
Option C. Educators bringing students, to pay £50 per staff member - students free. Please send Liz Dobson (E.d.Dobson@hud.ac.uk) an email with the student name and email address.
